When concrete is more than 24 inches thick and cannot be reached by a regular saw, a wire saw might be the best tool. The wire saw is a tool of great precision and versatility. The wire saw uses a cable armed with conical diamond beads traveling at high speed. This cable, or wire, is able to make fast and accurate cuts of thick concrete. Wire saws can produce round or squared opening with any desired thickness.
The wire saw is perfect for cutting in a variety of projects: pump bases of any size and shape, free standing columns, even entire structures. In addition to this versatility, the saw is also ideal for its efficiency. Since there is no vibration at the point of the cut, micro cracks will not form in the surrounding concrete. It also produces minimal noise, which is beneficial in certain circumstances.
